Care at home
A caregiver from a licensed centre comes to your home, by the shift, day or month. Good if they want to stay at home and the family can share some of the care.
Good for: People who can do some things themselves, people who need company, or families who need help during the day.
Care home
Stays at a centre with a care team all day, with suitable rooms and equipment.
Good for: People who depend on others, or when close care at home is hard to arrange.
Recovery care
Short-term care after a hospital stay or an operation, focused on safety and recovery.
Good for: People who have just left hospital and still need someone with them at first.
Day care
Cared for at a centre during the day, home in the evening.
Good for: Families who work during the day and want their parent to have care and company.
Long-term stay
Lives at the centre long-term with ongoing care.
Good for: People who need long-term care that the family can't provide at home.
Doctor visits / hospital sitting
Someone takes them to hospital appointments, or stays with them in hospital by the shift.
Good for: Families who can't take time off work, or older people who live alone.
